"Mile 806" is a portrait series of Appalachian Trail Thru-hikers, photographed at Mile Marker 806 on the Appalachian Trail, on Cold Mountain, Virginia. A makeshift studio was set up on the trail, and hikers were photographed as they passed by. Originally featured in Outside Magazine, the work now exists as a gallery show, with artifacts donated by Thru-Hikers, and collections of journals from along the trail, chronicling hikers' journeys. Proceeds benefit trail & forest conservation.
